I was recently given the opportunity to make some bags in the lovely Maple Leaf tartan that has been the official national tartan of Canada since 2011.

This tartan was designed by David Weiser in 1964. The pattern incorporates the colours the maple leaf goes through as the seasons change: the green of the summer foliage, the gold in early autumn, the red after the first frost and the brown of the fallen leaf.

Quand j'ai vu récemment cette magnifique veste à carreaux chez Peter Hahn, je me suis rendu compte que ça fait un petit moment que je n'ai pas publié sur mon blog pour partager mes idées de looks et de shopping. Il faut dire que je suis tellement occupée à fabriquer des sacs et des pochettes en tartan  que le temps me manque en ce moment. 

Donc cette année encore, l'imprimé écossais a été mis à l'honneur dans le collection automne/hiver des grands couturiers. Mais quand je passe en revue mes billets sur le blog, je me rends bien compte qu'il n'a jamais vraiment disparu et qu'il s'agit bel et bien d'une tendance intemporelle.

Vivienne Westwood, Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Burberry..... ces noms sont intimement liés aux carreaux et au tartan. Car il y a bien une différence entre les carreaux et le tartan quand on est puriste.
